Anniversary Vacation Part 2: Monterey

After 3 days in San Francisco, the next leg of our trip was Monterey. It's been years since I've been to this town and the husband has never been. We stayed at the Monterey Bay Inn. It's a beautiful hotel right at the beginning of Cannery Row and is situated right next to San Carlos beach.
The bed was super comfy and was probably one of the best night's sleep I've ever had.

I could have lived in this bathroom

The beautiful view from our room

Continental breakfast delivered to our room every morning at the time of our choosing. :-)

We were in Monterey for our 1st anniversary and ate at The Chart House for our anniversary dinner. It was a perfect place to dine since we received a gift card for this place for our wedding last year and never had the opportunity to use it. Sah-weet!
You're supposed to get a personalized menu when celebrating a special event at The Chart House. But who the heck are the Josht's? Oops! At least they got the event right.

Pomegranate and Mango Mojitos! Yum!

Crab-stuffed mushrooms appetizer Also Yum!

Shrimp Fresca for me. Prime Rib and Shrimp for the hubs.

Chocolate Lava Cake for dessert. We were so stuffed by this time but So.Worth.It!

A trip to Monterey wouldn't be complete without a trip to the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

And since the hubs is a HUGE fan of golf, we had to do the 17-mile scenic drive and visit the famous Pebble Beach golf course.

We had a great time in Monterey. The weather was a little cooler than we expected but we survived. The last leg of our trip up next!

Anniversary Vacation Part 1: San Francisco

The first leg of our anniversary trip was San Francisco. I've always loved this city - not so much the weather though. It was freakin cold and windy the majority of the time. Of course we had to hit up all the touristy spots.

First was The Golden Gate Bridge

Followed by Pier 39 and Fisherman's Wharf, where we had lunch at The Fishermen's Grotto.

Then off to Ghirardelli Square

And the Palace of Fine Arts

And this was all in one day! The hubs and I had a fun time running around the city with our cameras. Part 2 of our trip coming up next!

A Girl's Gotta Accessorize

So with my brand new camera I just had to get a cute bag to put it in. I didn't want the blah black bag. I wanted something fun and funky. I wish I could've gotten one of these. But at $179 plus the cost of a color cover, it was a little too steep for me. Then I found this seller on ebay. I ordered it a few weeks ago and it came today! :-)

Here it is!

I'm happy it came in time before our trip later this week.

Reunited and it feels so good

Last Sunday my friend Joy and her family from Colorado were out here in California. Joy and I went to college together and were roommates the last 3 years of college. We also met with my other friend Britt. I also went to college with Britt and we were roommates the entire 4 years of college. It's been a long time since I've seen these girls. About 9 years since Joy and 6-7 years since seeing Britt. Since Joy and her family were going to Disneyland the following day we decided to meet at Downtown Disney in Anaheim. It was great to see these girls after all these years and catch up.

Family party in Palmdale

Last Saturday we headed out to Palmdale to the SIL's house for a party. Her two youngest kids were turning 16 (Jessica) and 12 (Josh). I remember meeting these two when the hubs and I first started dating (almost 6 years ago) and it's been great seeing these two grow up into a young lady and young man. The hubs and I also used this opportunity to take pics of the kids and party and practice our photography skills.

The birthday girl!

The birthday boy! He was too busy in the jumper to pose for any pictures.

My SIL's older daughter, Marie.

Although Palmdale is a looooong drive from where we live we had a good time.

Camera Shots: Suicide Bridge in Pasadena

The hubs and I ventured out again in the night to practice more shots with our cameras. The destination this time was Suicide Bridge in Pasadena. I was a little wary at first since the bridge is supposedly haunted but it ended up being an enjoyable evening.
